UW Science Task Force to Meet Thursday

A new task force charged with guiding efforts to upgrade science programs and laboratories at the University of Wyoming will meet Thursday, Oct. 16, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Laramie Holiday Inn’s Brown Room.

The task force will hold an informal dinner the evening before the meeting, also at the Holiday Inn.

The task force -- composed of accomplished scientists, industry leaders and other professionals -- was appointed by Gov. Matt Mead to work with a team of senior UW faculty members from several scientific departments to plan for remodeled and upgraded laboratory facilities and emphasize existing research strengths. That’s in line with the Legislature’s directive for UW to become a top academic and research institution in science.
