University of Wyoming students are adding their own spin to the traditional canned food drive.
The UW Service, Leadership and Community Engagement (SLCE) office is sponsoring a “Spooky Sprint” canned food drive Saturday, Oct. 25.
Student participants are requested to dress up in costume to gather donated items around the Laramie community. Volunteers will be required to register at 9 a.m. in the Wyoming Union behind Rolling Mills Café. A free breakfast will be served, and prizes will be given for the best costumes.
Starting at 10 a.m., students with shopping carts then will gather donated items around the community. Local community agencies will receive the canned food items collected by students to be distributed to needy Laramie families.
