Pinedale’s Ana Cuprill, the first Latina to chair a state Democratic Party in the United States, will speak at the University of Wyoming Monday, Oct. 20, as part of the UW Latina/o Studies Program Speaker Series.
She will discuss “A Non-Traditional Path to Politics” from 7-8 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Family Room. The talk is free and open to the public. Her talk is sponsored by UW’s Gender and Women’s Studies Program; the UW student group MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanos de Atzlan); UW Women’s Center; and the Women’s Advancement Research Center.
Cuprill, a Sublette County Library youth services librarian, is a graduate of Northland College in Wisconsin. She holds a degree in biology and has many experiences working in literacy, education and politics.
