Webb Heads UW Residence Life,Dining

Eric Webb has been named executive director of Residence Life, Dining/Catering and Events, and the Wyoming Union at the University of Wyoming.

He brings more than 25 years of leadership and dining experience in higher education and the private sector to this position. Webb started at UW in 2007 as director of dining and served as interim executive director from October 2010-July 2011.

Webb is responsible for directing and managing residence life programs, operations and facilities, including more than 2,000 residential spaces and 600 student apartment contracts; overseeing self-operated dining services including a central dining hall, retail dining operations at various campus locations and UW Catering and Events; and the Wyoming Union programming and services.

Sara Axelson, vice president for student affairs, says that, in the past year, UW Catering and Events has taken on the event operations and management of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center and the UW Conference Center. 

“The business operation expansion has necessitated entrepreneurial leadership that is unique to Eric’s background and expertise,” Axelson says. “We are proud to have Eric join us as a central member of the leadership team in Student Affairs.”

Webb assumes the new role April 1. Before coming to UW, he held progressively responsible positions at Washington State University, PFM/Chartwells, a nationally recognized private dining contractor; and in managerial and director roles at four other universities in the Northwest.

He holds a B.S. degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism management from Oregon State University and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at UW.
