The University of Wyoming Women’s Center this fall will support undergraduate and graduate women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields through various Women in Math, Science & Engineering (WiMSE) programs.
Seven events are scheduled to help women develop professional skills necessary for jobs in the STEM workforce, says Dolores Cardona, UW assistant dean of students. Programs are free.
The schedule:
-- Wednesday, Sept. 16, noon-1 p.m., “Women in STEM Fields 2015,” Wyoming Union, Room 221.
-- Wednesday, Sept. 23, noon-1 p.m., “Interviews for STEM Jobs: What’s Different?” Wyoming Union, Room 221.
-- Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2-6 p.m., Career Fair, Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
-- Wednesday, Oct. 14, noon-1 p.m., “Spaghetti Meet Up: Team Building and Networking,” Wyoming Union, Room 212.
-- Wednesday, Oct. 28, noon-1 p.m., “Writing the Right Resume or CV,” Wyoming Union, Room 221.
-- Wednesday, Nov. 11, noon-1 p.m., “Engineering Your Support System,” Wyoming Union, Room 202.
-- Wednesday, Dec. 2, noon-1 p.m., “What Would You Do When …: Professional Boundaries and Ethics,” Wyoming Union, Room 221.
The spring 2016 semester will feature six events, including topics of professional communication, networking, common college controversies, graduate school and another career fair.
