Retired Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kite and internationally known brain specialist Dr. Jeffrey Cummings will be among speakers at University of Wyoming spring commencement ceremonies.
Ceremonies for the individual colleges are scheduled Saturday, May 14; and the UW-Casper ceremony is scheduled Thursday, May 12.
UW is scheduled to accord degrees upon 1,419 undergraduate students, 346 graduate students, 55 College of Law students and 40 School of Pharmacy students.
The schedule of events for individual college commencement ceremonies, along with key speakers, is:
Thursday, May 12
7:30 p.m. -- UW-Casper graduation ceremonies, Casper Events Center: Keynote speaker, Casper College President Darren Divine; faculty speaker, Hayley Lanier, assistant professor of zoology; and student speaker, Kristen Trumbull, Casper, communication.
Saturday, May 14
8:30 a.m. -- College of Health Sciences, Arena-Auditorium: Dr. Jeffrey Cummings, director of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Cleveland, Ohio.
9 a.m. -- College of Business, College of Arts and Sciences auditorium: graduating students Landon Shimpa, Fort Collins, Colo., accounting; Holly Burnham, Fort Collins, Colo., finance; and Muna Oweidat, Amman, Jordan, MBA-energy management.
9 a.m. -- College of Education, Indoor Practice Facility: Jubal Yennie, Albany County School District 1 superintendent.
10 a.m. -- College of Law, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall: Marilyn S. Kite, retired Wyoming Supreme Court justice.
11 a.m.-1 p.m. -- President's picnic, a free lunch at War Memorial Fieldhouse and Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom.
11 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Outreach School commencement reception, Wildcatter Stadium Club, War Memorial Stadium.
1:30 p.m. -- College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Indoor Practice Facility: Douglas S. Stark, president and CEO, Farm Credit Services of America.
1:30 p.m. -- College of Arts and Sciences, Arena-Auditorium: No keynote speaker.
1:30 p.m. -- College of Engineering and Applied Science, College of Arts and Sciences auditorium: No keynote speaker.
6 p.m. -- Army/Air Force ROTC commissioning ceremony, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall: UW President Dick McGinity.
