Four-piece band Gipsy Moon will perform during the Welcome Week barbecue for University of Wyoming students at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, on Prexy’s Pasture.
UW’s 7220 Entertainment and Cowboy Connect sponsor the free activity for UW students.
Gipsy Moon is composed of Silas Herman (mandolin, guitar and vocals); Mackenzie Page (guitar, tenor banjo and vocals); Matt Cantor (bass and vocals); and Andrew Conley (cello). The four reside in the mountains of Nederland, Colo., where they write all original material about nature, sunsets, mountain rain and love. They are constantly reinventing their version of indie-folk to include Celtic melodies, Latin rhythms, jazzy vocals, bluegrass drive and a gypsy swing.
