CNN political commentators Sally Kohn and Tara Setmayer will debate on today’s hottest issues Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Education auditorium. The free public event is sponsored by UW’s 7220 Entertainment.
Noted progressive Kohn and conservative Setmayer bring their spirited debate from television broadcasts to live audiences to tackle some of the biggest issues of the day. In engaging presentations, Kohn and Setmayer offer valuable insight and thought-provoking perspective on partisan issues ranging from climate change and Wall Street largesse to Black Lives Matter and tax cuts.
Frequent sparring partners on CNN, Kohn and Setmayer value relationships and civility over dogma, demonstrating that it is possible to “disagree without being disagreeable” with intelligence and humor.
Recognized as one of the leading progressive voices in America, and columnist for the Daily Beast, Kohn is known for her provocative, candid commentary and humorous nonconformist spin on today’s most important political, social and business issues. She is ranked by Mediaite as one of the 100 most influential pundits on television and by The Advocate as the 35th most influential LGBT person in the media.
Setmayer is known for her conservative perspective and no-nonsense commentary and analysis on political issues that impact America’s future. She has appeared on leading media outlets, including Fox News, HBO, CNN, C-SPAN, The Wall Street Journal and NPR. A former communications director on Capitol Hill, she previously served as a political trainer for GOPAC, a conservative organization specializing in educating, organizing and training grassroots Republicans aspiring to run for public office.
