The University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is now accepting students into the Engineering Honors Program for the 2017-18 academic year.
The CEAS will serve as UW’s pilot program for college-specific honors programs as the University Honors Program prepares to transition into an Honors College.
The Engineering Honors Program combines the same opportunities already offered by the University Honors Program (www.uwyo.edu/honors/), with additional coursework in Engineering Honors curriculum, Engineering Honors independent study, Engineering Honors scholarship and Engineering Honors distinction upon graduation.
The educational opportunity allows students who study engineering and applied science to delve deeper into their areas of interests and receive additional resources to participate in independent research and explore off-campus experiences.
The new program is open to incoming freshmen, transfer students and current UW CEAS students enrolled in the University Honors Program.
More information is available at www.uwyo.edu/ceas/academics/honors/, and students interested in the Engineering Honors Program can enroll here: www.uwyo.edu/ceas/academics/honors/honorsform.html.
“The addition of an Engineering Honors Program speaks to the vision of the Tier-1 Engineering Initiative,” CEAS Dean Michael Pishko says. “This program will enhance our ability to educate and mentor our students at the highest level.”
