The University of Wyoming chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha hosted a 12-hour Cycle for Life event in remembrance of Taylor Trudeau and raised money for a foundation in his memory.
Trudeau was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of New Hampshire who died in August 2008 after a yearlong battle with leukemia. After Trudeau’s death, Gamma Mu founded the first Cycle for Life event in 2009. Since then, the event has spread to 129 chapters nationwide.
Pi Kappa Alpha at UW raised $2,041 for the Taylor Trudeau Cycle for Life Foundation. Money from the foundation will help spread awareness about leukemia and lymphoma, and fund research to help find a cure.
During the 12-hour period, 183 people participated in the UW event. Campus Recreation provided the venue and periodic spin instructors. Trudeau’s parents also were in attendance.
