He began his career in New York’s East Village and has toured around the world. His most notable work has been from the show “Saturday Night Live.” In 2008, he started writing for the show, where he appeared as a “Weekend Update” correspondent and co-created characters such as “Stefon” with Bill Hader.
He currently writes for IFC’s “Documentary Now” and for Netflix’s original series “Big Mouth,” where he voices the character of Andrew, a young boy dealing with the struggles of becoming a teenager.
Mulaney’s first comedy album, “The Top Part,” was released in 2009, followed by “New in Town” in 2012. In 2015, Mulaney performed a Netflix original stand-up show, titled “The Comeback Kid,” which the A.V. Club called “his best hour of his career.”
7220 Entertainment’s Large Scale Events Committee, responsible for producing Mulaney’s performance, meets Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center (CAC), located in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
