The University of Wyoming’s 7220 Entertainment will host a poetry slam competition in The Gardens, located in the Wyoming Union, Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 8 p.m. Sign-ups begin Friday, Jan. 26, and will continue until the event.
The event is free and open to the public. However, the competition is open only to UW students. Food also will be provided. To register, sign up in the Campus Activities Center (CAC), located in Room 012 in the Wyoming Union. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students are invited to submit their original poetry for the poetry slam with a chance to win cash prizes. Prizes will be: first place $200, second place $100 and third place $50.
7220 Entertainment is seeking volunteers to join one or more of its five committees responsible for planning events for students. The Fine Arts and Lectures Committee is responsible for organizing the poetry slam. The committee meets every Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the CAC.
