The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host Family Saturday Workshop June 2 from 10 a.m.-noon.
Family Saturday Workshop is a studio workshop led by the Art Museum’s trained teaching artists and educators to help families explore artistic materials and concepts inspired by museum exhibitions. The workshop is free for families and individuals of all ages.
June’s workshop will feature “The Butterfly Series: From the Collection of Jordan W. Finkelstein MD, MSc.” Participants will find inspiration from the high-resolution scans of moths and butterflies to create both 2-D and 3-D works of art. Museum educators will provide guidance and artistic materials to help make connections to both art and science.
For more information, call the Art Museum at (307) 766-6622, visit the website at www.uwyo.edu/artmuseum, or follow the museum on Facebook and Instagram.
Through its “Museum as Classroom” approach, the UW Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages. Located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie, the museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday hours are extended to 7 p.m. February through April and September through November.
