Indie rock and country band The Lonesome Heroes will perform Wednesday, June 20, as part of the University of Wyoming’s Summer Concert Series. The event is free and open to the public.
The Austin, Texas-based band will perform from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Simpson Plaza. UW Residence Life and Dining Services will provide burgers -- including a veggie option -- grilled chicken, salads, drinks and sides for purchase from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Led by frontman Rich Russell’s never-ending call of the road, the group has toured extensively behind two acclaimed albums. The Austin Chronicle praised the band’s sophomore album, “Can’t Stand Still,” as one of 2015’s best albums.
So far this year, the band has appeared at the SXSW Music Festival and the Folk Alliance International 2018 Conference. The band’s Mountain States Tour takes place this summer.
