The University of Wyoming’s Summer Concert Series features 10¢ Stranger Wednesday, July 11. The event is free and open to the public.
The local folk-Americana band will perform from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Simpson Plaza. UW Residence Life and Dining Services will provide burgers -- including a veggie option -- grilled chicken, salads, drinks and sides for purchase from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
“The long winters of Laramie can give rise to some unlikely cerebral creations. Take acoustic psychedelic Bluegrass, for instance, with a thread throughout of alt-country and rhythm-and-blues,” describes the band’s sound on its website.
Formed in late 2015 as an acoustic side project of musicians already in other bands, 10¢ Stranger features local musicians Jackson Clarendon, Shawn Hess, Mike Krupp, Bob Lefevre, Elianna Paninos, Laniece Schleicher and Jay Shogren.
For more information, go to the group’s Facebook page.
The Campus Activities Center’s 7220 Entertainment sponsors the concert series.
Individuals needing assistance to attend this event should call the Wyoming Union information desk at (307) 766-3160.
