Environmental and outdoor adventure films and documentaries will be presented during the Mountainfilm on Tour series Thursday and Friday, Oct 11-12.
The University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources will present the films at the Gryphon Theatre, located at 710 E. Garfield St. in Laramie. The screenings are free and open to the public, and include a different set of films each night.
Shows begin at 7 p.m. both nights, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The films focus on exploring cultures, preserving environments and inspiring adventure.
This is the seventh consecutive year that the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources has hosted Mountainfilm for free in Laramie.
Established in 1979, Mountainfilm is an organization and festival of films, people, stories and ideas celebrating indomitable spirit, educating and inspiring audiences, and motivating individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.
Mountainfilm on Tour shares a selection of the films from the annual festival with audiences around the world and offers Mountainfilm for Students, a free educational outreach initiative for K-12 schools. Each year, the tour reaches more than 50,000 people on six continents.
