The University of Wyoming’s Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) sorority will host the annual St. Jude 24-hour pancake breakfast Saturday, Oct. 20, at 8 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 21, at 8 a.m.
Breakfast will be hosted at the Tri Delta house, located at 1616 E. Sorority Row. Tickets cost $5 for a single entry or $20 for unlimited entries. All proceeds from the breakfast will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Tri Delta members will be selling tickets through Friday, Oct. 19, in the Wyoming Union breezeway or contact any Tri Delta member.
“People can come before and after the football game or later at night,” says Haley Fried, philanthropy chair of Tri Delta. “We like to have it for 24 hours so that people of all backgrounds -- students and non-students -- have access to this event just because it is not about fundraising, but also about awareness of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”
The event will include karaoke, live performances, games and a silent auction. Each year, the silent auction generates the greatest amount of proceeds. This year, the auction will feature a Kendra Scott necklace, gift baskets and gift cards from local businesses around the Laramie and Cheyenne communities.
“Every single member of our chapter puts her heart and soul into this one event to make it something incredible, not just for us, not just for the community, but for every single child who goes to St. Jude,” Fried says.
Last year, the chapter raised more than $18,000 from the event. Chapter members hope to top that amount this year.
