These are among the activities scheduled Dec. 9-15 at the University of Wyoming:
Tuesday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. -- The UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium presents “Dawn of the Space Age,” a full-dome movie, in the Physical Sciences Building basement. Tickets cost $3 for students and $5 for non-students. Tickets for children under age 5 are free. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/planetarium.
Wednesday, Dec. 11, 6 p.m. -- UW’s WWAMI Medical Education Program, in collaboration with Ivinson Memorial Hospital, will offer a “Stop the Bleed” class in the UW College of Health Sciences Building, Room 459. “Stop the Bleed” is a national awareness campaign intended to encourage bystanders to become trained and equipped to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Registration is free.
Thursday, Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Mississippi Valley State University, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.
Thursday, Dec. 12-Saturday, Dec. 14, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theatre and Dance will present the musical comedy “How to Survive Your Family at Christmas” on the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts main stage. Tickets cost $14 for the public, $11 for senior citizens and $7 for students. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.
Friday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. -- UW’s Staff Senate will host its annual UW Holiday Market in the Performing Arts lobby. Nearly 50 vendors will sell a variety of items, including baked goods, wood and textile crafts, and housewares. Staff Senate will sell tickets for its fall meat raffle and holiday cash 50/50 raffle. The proceeds from ticket sales will support staff scholarships, the Employee of the Quarter program and other staff activities.
Friday, Dec. 13, 4:10 p.m. -- The UW Department of Anthropology Fall Seminar Series presents Jack Fenner, an academic fellow at Australian National University. He will discuss “Genghis Khan’s Winter Home” in the UW Anthropology Building, Room 150. Free.
