Getting More Valuable Minerals from Every Rock

Principal Investigator: Kam Ng

Dr. Kam Ng at the University of Wyoming is testing a new technology that helps recover rare earth elements and other critical minerals from rocks more efficiently. The process uses high-speed streams of water and minerals to break apart rock and free valuable materials while using less energy and reducing waste. If successful, it could strengthen U.S. mineral supplies and position Wyoming as a leader in mineral innovation.
