Walk-In Growth Chambers

The Facility houses two large walk-in MTPS144 FLEX 3-tier growth chambers in addition to a BDW120 walk-in chamber (Conviron; Controlled Environments Ltd., Winnipeg, CA). The MTPS chambers have a total growth area of 144 ft.2 each and can be converted from a tall plant/high light/single tier configuration to a short plant/low light/two or three tier configurations. The BDW120 chamber that will be used for all the proposed experiments has an open floor plan with a total of 123 ft.2 allowing for flexible arrangement and construction of systems unique to specific research needs. Additionally, the BDW120 is outfitted with Heliospectra Elixia C5 research luminaires (Heliospectra AB, Gothenburg, Sweden) which allow for highly controlled photobiological research. All chambers have full environmental control for temperature, relative humidity, lighting, and CO2.
