Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science summer participant staff undergo a week-long training covering healthy communication practices, mental health concerns, healthy relationships, minors on campus policies, Title IX, CPR/First-aid, and recognizing/reporting child abuse.
To be eligible for the summer program, students must be eligible for and enrolled in the University of Wyoming Upward Bound or Upward Bound Math Science Program.
If a student is enrolled in UB/UBMS, then, as long as the student will be enrolled in high school the semester after the summer program, they are eligible for the summer program. This means the student will be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior in September.
If you are a senior this year and have completed at least one previous summer program, then you are eligible for the Bridge Scholarship. Visit (link) to learn more about the Bridge Scholarship and how to apply.
Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science staff are still working on finalizing the dates for the Summer 2024 UB/UBMS program. Typically, a summer program is six-weeks long and begins in early June. There is always a break for 4th of July. Check in with your coordinator in January for updated information.
Summer program applications will be available during the Spring 2024 semester. If you are interested in applying to be a student participant, ask your coordinator to let you know when the application is available.
If you are a current college student and are interested in being residential or academic staff for the summer program, email UB@uwyo.edu for more information.
