K–12 Engagement:

Partnering to Inspire Wyoming’s Future Innovators

The School of Computing is committed to building strong, collaborative relationships with K–12 schools, educators, and communities across Wyoming to help spark interest in computing and expand access to meaningful STEM experiences. We welcome opportunities to partner with schools through activities such as campus visits, interactive demonstrations, and events like the annual STEM Carnival, where students can explore computing in fun, hands-on ways. Our team is excited to visit classrooms, engage with students in their own communities, and showcase the many ways that computing connects to everyday life, careers, and creativity. While we are still growing our capacity to offer more structured programs such as teacher professional development or co-designed curriculum, we are eager to explore new forms of collaboration that align with the goals of local schools and educators. By working together, we hope to inspire Wyoming’s youth, support K–12 learning, and foster a more inclusive and connected computing future for the state.

Industry Engagement:

Building a Statewide Innovation Ecosystem

The School of Computing is actively building an industry partnership program that fosters meaningful collaboration between academia and the private sector to advance innovation, workforce development, and applied research across Wyoming and beyond. We invite companies of all sizes to engage with our faculty and students through research partnerships, capstone projects, and joint grant opportunities that address real-world challenges in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and more. Our internship program provides a pipeline for students to gain hands-on experience while contributing valuable skills to Wyoming’s industries. Additionally, we welcome industry professionals into the classroom as guest speakers, mentors, or course collaborators, bringing practical insights and emerging trends directly into our curriculum. By building flexible, mutually beneficial partnerships, the School of Computing aims to serve as a connective hub where students, faculty, and industry leaders co-create the digital future of Wyoming.
