The English Language Center is currently active in two grants projects in Uzbekistan. One with the American CouncilsUnicen Projects in Central Asiaand one award with the US State Dept through the Tashkent Embassy. Our focus in these grants are to improve educational infrastructures for Tourism ESL across several Universities and with the production of a Tourism ESL textbook tailored to Uzbek Tourism.

  • Uzbekistan is home to a host of valuable historic sites including the World Heritage site at Samarkand. The University of Wyoming has unique experiences and resources that make this a rich and valuable exchange with Uzbekistan's development on the world stage.

The English Language Center is also focused on working with the growing need for Professional English for academics overseas who are working in the medium of Language of Instruction English. Professionalization in their fields often requires essential discipline specific English skills to publish and participate in real time, now, from all over the world.

STEM English development and ESP pedagogy are also areas of great depth in the ELC talent pool. Plans for proposals include experiential teaching and learning opportunities for K-12 international Science Teacher Education which include using unique Wyoming resources like the Teton Science School and the University of Wyoming National Parks Research Center in Yellowstone.
