Dec. 17, 2002 -- The University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance will hold
interviews and auditions for students interested in scholarships for acting, dance,
playwriting and technical theatre. The highly competitive scholarship auditions/interviews
will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Crane Studio and Mains Dance Studio
in the UW Fine Arts building.
Students also are invited to attend any of the UW classes on Friday, Jan. 31. The
appropriate application forms and letters of recommendation are due by Jan. 15.
The department offers undergraduates the rare experience to act, design or dance early
in their college careers, says Harry Woods, fine arts coordinator for theatre and
dance.
"The opportunity to interact and learn from the faculty in a one-on-one situation
is unparalleled in the region," Woods says. "With the region's newest acting for the
camera studio plus a nationally recognized acting and playwriting program, the Department
of Theatre and Dance at the University of Wyoming is well situated to offer the best
undergraduate degree available."
