April 28, 2008 -- The University of Wyoming Intermediate Dance Composition class will perform its final works Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m., in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.
The performance will feature guest choreographer Angela Banchero-Kelleher, a professor of modern dance at Utah Valley State College.
Students from the class were given an assignment to create a performance based upon expectations in the real-world. Auditions were held, casts were chosen for each choreographer and rehearsals were posted. Students also worked with music composition students to coordinate music and sound.
Themes presented in the performance will include inner pulse of humans, battle between creativity and structure, finding oneself in battling ideas, strength of women, and inner worlds in a city and subway.
Choreographers for the event are Carling Barker, Nikki Canete, Brianna Figueroa, Tiffany Forester, Lindsay Hall, Kathryn Rochelle, Kelleen Shadow, and Stephanie Thomas.
The event is free and open to the public. However, donations will be accepted at the door.
