Reverse Transfer Program

Earn Your Associate Degree While Working Toward Your Bachelor’s

The University of Wyoming’s Reverse Transfer Program allows eligible transfer students to earn an associate degree from a Wyoming community college while continuing their bachelor’s degree at UW. If you transferred to UW before completing an associate degree, this program lets your UW coursework count back toward that credential.

Reverse Transfer recognizes the work you’ve already completed and helps you earn a meaningful milestone along the way.

How Reverse Transfer Works

The Reverse Transfer Program allows eligible transfer students to have UW share their official transcript with a participating Wyoming community college so combined credits can be reviewed for an associate degree. Students who transferred to UW before completing an associate degree and have earned approximately 60 combined college-level credits may be eligible.

To get started:

  • Email transfer@uwyo.edu to indicate your interest.
  • Grant permission for UW to share your official transcript.
  • Your community college will review your coursework and notify you if degree requirements are met so you may apply for graduation.

There is no cost to participate, and processing timelines vary by institution.

Participating Community Colleges

Select your community college to find school-specific contact information for the Reverse Transfer Program. If your credits do not align, you may need to speak with an advisor at your community college or UW.
