1/2 Day Rental: used between the hours of 7:30 am - 12:30 pm or 1 pm - 5 pm with a grace period of 10 minutes; or 5 hours or less rental with prior Car Rental approval (same day pick-up/drop-off only).

Seasonal: 1-6 Months

Permanently Assigned: 1+ Years

Other Fees

• Field Work Surcharge (research grants, work conducted/data collected in the natural environment, farm use, etc): 20% of rental rate

• Cancellation or failure to pick up vehicle without 24 hours’ notice (fee may be waived for severe weather at Car Rental Services discretion): Daily Rental Rate Based on Vehicle Type + $50.00 administrative fee

• Late Vehicle Return Fee (without prior notification): Daily Rental Rate Based on Vehicle Type + $50.00 administrative fee

• Extra Cleaning Fee Due to Excessive Dirtiness: $150.00 - $500.00 OR the total cost of the bill if taken to an outside detail shop.

• Vehicle Damages/Repairs caused by at-fault and/or negligence (at the discretion of Car Rental Services & Risk Management): Actual cost of service + $100.00 administrative fee

• Failure to Return Lost or Damaged Equipment (receiver hitch, keys, etc.): Actual cost of item + $15.00 administrative fee

• Administrative Assistance Fee (tow's, lockouts, replacement vehicle, etc.) when driver is at fault: Actual cost of service + $100.00 administrative fee

• Recovery Charges (equipment or passengers): Actual cost of service + $100.00 administrative fee

• Failure to Report Accurate Mileage by the 5th of every month (for long-term rentals only): $50.00 administrative fee

• Loss of Use Charges (rental charges associated with damaged vehicle out of service due to negligence): Actual rental rate daily/monthly (max 2 months)

• Fuel Charges: Cost of fuel based on consumption

• Toll Charges: Actual cost of toll
