About the Graduate Certificate in Public Health
UW’s graduate certificate in community and public health is an online, asynchronous
program that is designed for working professionals and current students. It consists
of four core courses. All students additionally have the option to add a specialization
course.
All certificate students have the option to add a 3-credit specialization course to
their certificate. Specialization options include:
- Emergency prep & response
- Achieving rural community health
- Environmental health
- Food, health & justice
- One health
All public health courses are designed to help students build an actionable public
health project. At the end of the certificate, students leave with an evidence-based
project they can put into action in their community.

Graduate students and working professionals who already hold a bachelor's degree in any field are eligible to apply to the certificate. Current UW undergraduate students should apply to the QuickStart Certificate Program: Community & Public Health and must obtain permission from their advisor and the Community & Public Health Coordinator.

"What I liked best about the graduate certificate in community and public health was the small class sizes... The instructors were very much able to reach out and talk individually..."
