UWs Energy Resources Council and Clean Coal Task Force to Meet

March 20, 2012

Members of the University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council (ERC) and the Clean Coal Task Force (CCTF) will meet Friday, March 30, in Room 307 at the UW College of Business Building. The ERC will hold a work session Saturday, March 31, at the UW Conference Center at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Friday's ERC meeting begins at 8 a.m. Upon adjournment, the CCTF will meet. Saturday's work session is from 8 a.m.-noon.

Among the agenda items to be considered are a review of legislation affecting the UW School of Energy Resources (SER) from the recent state legislative session; budget updates; construction of the Energy Innovation Center and donations; and coming events. Saturday's work session will include discussion of implementing SER's strategic plan and engaging the private sector.

Following the ERC meeting, the council will convene as the CCTF to consider its direction and the upcoming requests for proposals for advanced coal research.

The ERC, composed of representatives from industry, state government and academia, was established by the 2006 Wyoming State Legislature. It provides direction to the SER on priorities for research and outreach.

The SER provides undergraduate and graduate education, conducts research on existing and emerging energy resources, and disseminates scientific, engineering and economic information to support Wyoming's near- and long-term energy future.

Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should call the SER at (307) 766-2663. Information about the School of Energy Resources is available on at www.uwyo.edu/ser.
