Exciting new contemporary ballet, modern and screen-dance pieces will be featured in the University of Wyoming Department of Theatre and Dance spring dance concert, "Variegations," Thursday, Feb. 28-Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. on the UW Fine Arts main stage.

Tickets cost $14 for the public, $11 for senior citizens and $7 for students. For tickets and information, call (307) 766-6666, or visit the Fine Arts or Wyoming Union box offices or visit the website at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Showcasing the department's finest dancers, "Variegations" will feature original works by UW Theatre and Dance faculty members Marsha Knight and Lawrence Jackson, a new contemporary modern dance work by guest artist Andre Megerdichian, and a screen dance and original work by visiting faculty member Rachael L. Shaw.

The concert opens with Knight’s contemporary ballet piece, “The Lark Ascending,” which is set to the first movement of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ signature work of the same name.
