Saxophone Masterworks to Perform in UW Faculty Recital May 4

The University of Wyoming Department of Music Faculty Recital Series continues with “Saxophone Masterworks” at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Fine Arts concert hall. The program is free and open to the public.

Saxophonist Scott Turpen and pianist Theresa Bogard, both UW Department of Music professors, will feature music by American composer William Albright, Czech composer Jindrich Feld, and jazz classical crossover composer Phil Woods. They will play a wide array of music.

The program is a preview of the concert Bogard and Turpen will perform on their upcoming Southeast Asia tour. They will be ambassadors for the UW music program as performers and teachers in Singapore and Thailand.

Brass Extravaganza will perform the final Faculty Recital Series program at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in the Fine Arts concert hall.
