UW Offers Free Shuttle Service for Commencement

May 3, 2013

With parking space expected to be limited near some commencement ceremony venues, the University of Wyoming will offer free shuttle service beginning one hour before scheduled events May 10-11. Commencement shuttles run on 7-  to 10-minute intervals.

UW Transit and Parking Services notes there are several bus stops near general parking areas, including the Express Shuttle lot on Willett Drive between 22nd and 30th streets; on the east side of War Memorial Stadium; the east side of the Wyoming Union; and other locations. UW will enforce only major parking violations May 10-11, and will enforce loading zone restrictions around the residence halls.

A shuttle will run Friday, May 10, from east of the Wyoming Union to the Hilton Garden Inn beginning at 2:30 p.m. for the Multicultural graduation ceremony scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Also Friday, a shuttle service will start at 5:30 p.m. for the Department of Psychology ceremony that begins at 6:30 p.m. in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Shuttle service will be provided Saturday May 11, one hour before each of the major commencement ceremonies scheduled in the Arts and Sciences auditorium; Arena-Auditorium; War Memorial Fieldhouse; and the Fine Arts concert hall. Shuttle service will not end until all passengers have been returned to their vehicles following the ceremonies.
