March 20, 2014 — Albany County’s Emergency Management System will conduct a 30-second test of its emergency sirens Friday, March 21, at 10 a.m.
The sirens are located in nine areas around the county and all will be simultaneously tested, says Aimee Binning, Albany County emergency coordinator.
“This is a test only, and residents are advised not to call 911,” she says. “During a real emergency, the sirens would last for 180 seconds and further information would be available through radio announcements.”
