Monday, March 23, 3:10 p.m. -- Department of Geology and Geophysics Distinguished Lecturer Series presents Brian Russell, “Pre-Stack Amplitude Analysis: An Integrated Overview,” S.H. Knight Geology Building Room 216. Free.

Tuesday, March 24, 3-5 p.m. -- Department of History graduate students Christopher Parson and Eleanor Parr will present their research at the department’s spring colloquium, Room 121 of Coe Library. Free.

Tuesday, March 24, 7 p.m. -- Art Talk with visiting artist Chuck Kelton, Visual Arts Building Room 111. Free.

Wednesday, March 25, 7 p.m. -- The indie electro-soul band Caught a Ghost performs in the College of Education auditorium. Free.

Thursday, March 26, 4 p.m. -- Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Series presents UCLA Economics Professor Kathleen McGarry, “50 Years of Poverty, What it Means for the Elderly,” Room 123 of the College of Business Building. Free.

Thursday, March 26-Friday, March 27 -- UW Jazz Festival, Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Free. 

Thursday, March 26, 3:10 p.m. -- School of Energy Resources Speaker Series presents Cindy Crane, president and CEO of Rocky Mountain Power, Energy Innovation Center Room 201. Free.

Thursday, March 26, 7:30 p.m. -- Cultural Programs presents jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton, Performing Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $10 for students; $19 for faculty, staff and senior citizens; and $23 for the public.

Friday, March 27, noon -- School of Energy Resources Speaker Series presents Shane Murphy, UW assistant professor in atmosphere science, Energy Innovation Center Room 201. Free. 

Friday, March 27, 4:10 p.m. -- Department of Anthropology Spring Seminar Series presents Erick Robinson, “Temporal and Spatial Dynamics of Environmental and Cultural Changes during the Late Glacial and Early Holocene: Towards a Trans-Atlantic Perspective,” Anthropology Building Room 150. Free.

Friday, March 27, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show “Mars: The Mysterious Red Planet.” A Lady Gaga laser show follows at 8:20 p.m. Tickets cost $2 for students and $3 for nonstudents, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Friday, March 27, 7:30 p.m. -- Department of Music presents jazz artist Lonnie Smith with the Wyoming Jazz Ensemble, Performing Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $6 for students; $7 for faculty, staff and senior citizens; and $10 for the public.
