Anne Alexander, director of international programs at the University of Wyoming, has been appointed as UW’s associate vice president for undergraduate education.
She will succeed Interim Associate Vice President Alyson Hagy, who will step down in August.
“Anne will bring tremendous leadership skills and experience in statewide engagement to this position,” says David Jones, vice president for academic affairs. “We are extremely pleased to have her be a part of Academic Affairs.”
Alexander obtained a B.B.A. and an M.A. from New Mexico State University, and a Ph.D. from UW in economics. From 2003-06, she was director of undergraduate studies for the Department of Economics and Finance in the College of Business. She also directed the Health Economics Policy Center at UW and served as assistant dean of the College of Business.
She has been director of international programs since 2007, coordinating between UW and institutions around the world, including study abroad and exchange opportunities for students, Fulbright and National Security Education Program applications, travel grants, internationalizing the curriculum, and other actions that strengthen bilateral relations with partners of UW.
Her teaching and research interests include global macroeconomic issues, health economics and energy economics.
