UW Provost Names Co-Leaders for Strategic Planning Sessions

University of Wyoming Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Kate Miller has selected co-leaders for dialogue and listening sessions that are part of UW’s newly launched strategic planning process.

These individuals will assist the Strategic Planning Leadership Council this fall by facilitating listening sessions and gathering input on priorities for topics of interest that cut across the university.

These topics and the co-leaders are:

Athletics -- Alyson Hagy (faculty athletics representative) and Joi Thomas (Department of Athletics).

University structures and organization -- Jacquelyn Bridgeman (College of Law) and John Mittelstaedt (College of Business).

Extended education/lifelong learning -- Meg Van Baalen Wood (Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning) and Karen Bartsch Estes (Department of Psychology).

Undergraduate recruiting and enrollment -- Chip Kobulnicky (Department of Physics and Astronomy) and Mary Aguayo (Division of Student Affairs).

Diversity/inclusion/internationalization -- Cecilia Aragon (Latina/o Studies) and David Messenger (Global and Area Studies).

Academic programs, curriculum, academic quality -- Ricki Klages (Department of Art and Art History) and Derek Smith (Division of Kinesiology and Health).

Information technology -- Jen Chavez (Information Technology) and Dimitri Mavriplis (Department of Mechanical Engineering).

Student success -- Donal Skinner (Department of Zoology and Physiology) and Patrice Noel (Office of Academic Affairs).

Research scholarship, graduate education -- Bryan Shader (Office of Research and Economic Development) and Suzie Young (College of Education).

Engagement and outreach, economic development, vibrant communities -- Jeff Clune (Department of Computer Science) and Mark Northam (School of Energy Resources).

Resource realignment, revenue, budgeting modeling -- Rob Godby (Department of Economics and Finance) and Steve Smutko (Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources).

Design, master plan, campus aesthetics -- Tony Denzer (Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering) and Larry Blake (Facilities Architecture).

Provost Miller will hold a joint meeting of the Strategic Planning Leadership Council and the co-leaders Tuesday, Oct. 4, to plan the timeline for listening sessions for the fall. Listening sessions are expected to begin the week of Oct. 17 and will continue until the end of the fall semester.
