University of Wyoming Calendar for Jan. 29

These are among the activities scheduled Jan. 29-Feb. 4 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Jan. 29-Saturday, Feb. 3 -- Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue (MLK DOD) events take place at various campus locations. Events are free and open to the public.

Monday, Jan. 29, 3:10 p.m. -- The UW Department of Geology and Geophysics Distinguished Lecturer Series presents Eric Erslev, an adjunct professor in the department. He will discuss Laramide tectonics in the S.H. Knight Geology Building, Room 216. A reception will follow in the UW Geological Museum. Free.

Tuesday, Jan. 30, 6:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host an exhibition preview of “Indian Country: The Art of David Bradley,” followed by a panel discussion at 7 p.m. Free.

Tuesday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Wyoming Stargazing.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Wednesday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Colorado State, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Wednesday, Jan. 31, 8 p.m. -- 7220 Entertainment’s Club Events Committee will host a Comedy Night, featuring comedians Jon Rudnitsky and Dino Archie. The two will perform in The Gardens, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free.

Thursday, Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m. -- Jason Thompson, the director of diversity and inclusion for the United States Olympic Committee, is the keynote speaker for MLK DOD. His talk, “MLK’s Thoughts on Time and Riding a Bike with No Handlebars,” will be in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. Free.

Friday, Feb. 2, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Stellar Afterlife.” A free STAR Observatory tour (weather dependent) follows at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, Feb. 3, 10 a.m.-noon -- The UW Art Museum will host Family Saturday Workshop for families and individuals of all ages. Free.

Saturday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m. -- Planetarium show, “Astronauts, Spaceships & Robots.” Visitors can design their own model rockets or spaceships following the show. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, Feb. 3, noon -- Cowboy basketball vs. Fresno State, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Sunday, Feb. 4, 1 p.m. -- Cowboy wrestling vs. Oklahoma, UniWyo Sports Complex. Ticket prices vary.
