Meeting to Share Updated Version of UWs Biodiversity Institute Transition Plan Oct. 31

A town-hall meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center auditorium to share the revised plan for the Biodiversity Institute (BI) and accept final comment.

Anyone is welcome, but those associated with biodiversity work are especially encouraged to attend.

Vice President for Research and Economic Development Ed Synakowski has led development of the transition plan, considering broad input from members of the BI staff, faculty from across campus, other stakeholders and potential stakeholders, and communications from citizens and students. Priorities have been informed by UW’s strategic plan, “Breaking Through: 2017-2022.”

Following UW Regulation 2-13, the plan was submitted to the Faculty Senate and those affiliated with the BI for comment. Feedback received has informed the plan, and a revised version will be shared Oct. 31.

Following input from the town-hall meeting, the administration expects to present a final plan to the UW Board of Trustees at its November meeting.
