Master Money Manager Coach

Master Money Coach Purpose:

The purpose of the Master Money Coach (M3C):
*Increase the capacity of community, community groups to help people to take positive steps to improve their money management knowledge and habits.

 
What M3C Can Do:

Since financial management isn’t well covered in formal education, and financial institutions and UW Extension do not have the resources to reach deep into the audiences that could benefit. The M3C program:

  1. Partners with community organizations to offer money management training.
  2. Teaches trainers from community organizations how to teach money management.
  3. Gives trainers tools to reinforce positive behavior change through skill building and one on one coaching.

M3C Details:

  • The M3C is a two-day workshop with heavy emphasis on teaching and coaching relationships.
  • The program utilizes the FDIC Money Smart curriculum. Vea esta página en español.
    In 2019, the FDIC awarded the M3C program its national "Creative Money Smart for Adult Users of the Year" award.

I took the M3C Course with UW Extension. I was impressed upon my arrival to see how much preparation and time was put into the materials for our use. Once we dove into the modules, I enjoyed how the material included both the instructor and participant guide. Making a topic such as financial literacy easier to approach and feel confident in coaching our homeowners. We were also given USB drives with the materials and other resources – such as different age groups and languages. The four coaches worked well with presenting within their varied fields of experience.
