Help Us Support Student Public Service Opportunities in 2025!
The Malcolm Wallop Civic Engagement Program participates in UW Giving Day each October. Our 2025 Giving Day campaign will go live noon-to-noon October 23-24, 2025. Join us and see how your donation may be matched by generous UW and Wallop Program donors. Your donation will support important public service initiatives in two areas: 1) to enhance K-12 civics education across Wyoming through projects such as the Wyoming Youth Resilience Project and 2) to advance UW student internship opportunities with the Byra Kite Internship Fund.
During Giving Day 2024, generous donors provided incentives such as a $7,500 match for new gifts to the Wallop Civic Engagement Program Fund and a $5,000 challenge for the Byra Kite Internship Fund. These matches helped us reach our donor goal that was set at 100 donors (ultimately, we had 130 donors participate in Giving Day!!). These funds directly support graduate students and student interns who are a core part of the Wallop Team, our core programming, and UW students interning with legislators at the state and national levels as well as non-profit organizations in the Wallop Program continues to host community conversations on civics, civil discourse, and conversations on democracy, as well as reaching out to students in classrooms around the state. Our core work with K-12 teachers continues with the creation of new civics education classroom materials that we provide free to teachers around the state through our K-12 Catalog. Please reach out to Jean Garrison at wallop@uwyo.edu for more information.
Join the Wallop Team as one of our UW Giving Day donors or anytime throughout the year. Your support is vital for the continued growth and statewide impact of our program. Thank you!
