Wellness in the WEST is all about creating a thriving, resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to prioritize their well-being. Whether you're a student, faculty member, or staff, take an active role in your own mental, emotional, and physical health.

Employee Wellness Initiative Program

Opportunity extended through August 7, so you may still take those summer MHFA courses to secure your reduced Half Acre & Wellness Center membership!

What is the Employee Wellness Initiative Program?

  • The Employee Wellness Initiative Program at the University of Wyoming, designed to enhance the overall well-being of our employees. By focusing on physical and mental health, this initiative offers employees an opportunity to invest in their health while saving on membership costs to the Half Acre Recreation & Wellness Center.

Why Join?

  • When you join Wellness in the WEST, you gain access to the tools and resources necessary to lead a healthier lifestyle. Not only will you enjoy the benefits of improved mental and physical wellness, but you'll also receive financial savings on your Half Acre membership.

Qualifying Criteria

  • To participate in the Wellness in the WEST program, employees must meet the following qualifications:
  1. Be a benefited employee of the University of Wyoming.
  2. Be enrolled in the State of Wyoming Employee Group Insurance (EGI) benefits.
  3. Purchase the annual Half Acre Recreation & Wellness Center membership and sign up for monthly payroll deduction.
  4. Complete the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification training, provided by the Wellness Center.

What You’ll Get

  • Once enrolled in the program, your monthly Half Acre membership contribution will be reduced to just $9.04 once the insurance premium contribution is applied. This affordable rate is part of our commitment to making wellness accessible for all employees.

Step Up for Wellness – Join the State of Wyoming's Nutrition Challenge!

Let’s make every step count toward a healthier future! Fuel your body, stay active, and commit to a healthier you with the State of Wyoming Nutrition Challenge!

From July 28 to September 7, take the opportunity to prioritize nutrition and movement while unlocking valuable health insights along the way.

🏅Earn the challenge badges by achieving the step goals! Each badge in this challenge highlights a different aspect of healthy nutrition - track your activity, follow the map, and discover key nutrition tips while staying active!

This challenge is designed to help you:

  • Move more – Get your steps in every day!
  • Learn healthy habits – Unlock nutrition tips along the way.
  • Win nutrition related prize – complete the map and be entered to win a nutrition related prize!

Already Registered? Great! Be sure to open the Walkingspree app often to sync your steps. You’re automatically entered into the challenge.

Not Registered Yet? Registration is quick and easy:

  1. Download the Walkingspree App from Google Play or App Store.
  2. Enter company name exactly as: State of Wyoming
    Membership/Redemption Code: WYOMINGONWELLNESS
  3. Connect your device and start stepping!
  4. Choose your own screen name to be shown on the app.
