Wellness in the WEST

designed to support the overall wellbeing of UW employees

WEST: Where Everyone Strengths Together

The idea for Wellness in the WEST was developed to focus on employee retention and community building. We have known since the COVID-19 pandemic that caring for each other and improving our employee's wellness helps our students succeed both academically and personally. While strong support systems are available for students, we recognize that employees face similar challenges and that resources can be difficult to access. With this in mind, the Wellness in the WEST program was established to better connect employees to meaningful, accessible support.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

MHFA is an seven-hour certificate training that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use concerns.

Employees who complete MHFA training receive a $20 monthly Half Acre gym premium credit, applied through payroll for the primary insurance holder only (per EGI guidelines), with eligibility to continue the credit for an additional 12 months after training completion.
