Future Students

Students must choose Option A or Option B and complete 4 courses within the chosen option. (12 credit hours)

Option A:
This area of emphasis guides students through an examination of the broad area of leadership development. Courses emphasize the politics and development of leadership skills, working with communities and non-profits, understanding public administration, and the uniqueness of issues organizational leaders face in today’s world. Courses include:

AGEC 4660 Community & Economic Develop.
FCSC 4117 Community Leadership: Working With Services & Systems
FCSC 4985 Seminar: Dev. In Community Leadership
POLS 4420 Seminar in Public Administration
POLS 4710 Introduction to the Non-Profit Sector
POLS 4710 Non-Profit Management & Leadership
POLS 4710 American Political Issues
SOC 3650 The Community
SOC 4020 Sociology of Work
WMST 4400 Women and Work

NOTE: All courses will not be offered every semester.

Option B:
This area of emphasis guides students through an examination of how managers create value by understanding and developing employee and customer relationships. We strongly suggest that students complete ACCT 1010 and ECON 1010, both of which are available from, and articulated with, the community colleges throughout Wyoming before taking these courses. The area of emphasis consists of the following additional courses:

MGT 3210 Management and Organizations
Prereq: Junior class standing
MGT 3110 Business Ethics
Prereq: Sophomore class standing
MKT 3210 Introduction to Marketing
Prereq: Junior class standing
MGT 4410 Human Resource Management
Prereq: MGT 3210 and Junior class standing

NOTE: Students with this option may not take any more than 30 credits (total) in business and must obtain a “C” or better in each of the courses listed above in order to advance to the next course. All courses will not be offered each semester.
