Computer Science Advisory Board

The Computer Science Department Advisory Board is a distinguished group of individuals who volunteer their time to provide advice on current efforts and the future direction of the department. A number of the members of the board are Computer Science Department alumni, others are not. The board participates in an all-day meeting, typically twice a year, in Laramie. They also make themselves regularly available via phone and email. Recent topics of discussion have included: curriculum issues, how to attract women and underrepresented groups into the field, recent developments in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, significant developments at the University affecting the department, future hiring strategies and the strategic direction of the department, how the department might better serve the state of Wyoming, and how the Computer Science Department might be a source for economic development in the state and the region.
