JOI Program Education

Part of JOI is the education experience. As UW's JOI Coordinator, Yuki is available to help the university and Wyoming community learn more about Japan, its language, its history, and so much more.

A few education-related activities examples are below. Please feel free to request access, as well as share your own ideas and requests.

Activities:

• Classroom visits
• Lectures

• Japanese and English conversation tables
• Language and culture competitions
• Teacher support

 

Topics:

• Japanese language
• Pop culture (such as music, manga, and fashion)
• Introduction to origami 
• Seasonal events and holidays (such as Shogatsu and Tanabata )
• Introduction to calligraphy
• Business etiquette

Current Activities:

• Beginner Japanese and Culture Classes - every Thursday at 4:00 pm, from September 15 to December 8 (for more information and to register, visit the World Language and Culture Program page)
• Japanese Conversational Club - weekly on Mondays or Tuesdays at 4:00 pm (contact sglass1@uwyo.edu for more information)
