College of Health Sciences

Welcome Alumni and Friends

The University of Wyoming College of Health Sciences is the youngest college on the UW campus. It was reorganized in 1984 and now consists of the following schools and divisions: The Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, Division of Communication Disorders, Division of Kinesiology and Health, Division of Social Work, Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND) and the Wyoming Center on Aging.

Also included are the WWAMI Medical Education Program along with The Family Practice Residency Programs in Casper and Cheyenne.

Dental Hygiene degree is offered in conjunction with Sheridan College and minors in Disabilities, and Aging. In addition, the College of Health Sciences is excited to add a new bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Wyoming-Casper site. Over the years, enrollment has steadily grown; making the college UW's second largest. For a complete list of all the college has to offer including educational centers and advising information, please visit our Divisions and Programs page.

Most of the college's programs and divisions are housed in the Health Sciences building with the exceptions of the Division of Kinesiology and Health, which located in the Corbett Building. However, the college serves the state with faculty and programs located around Wyoming, often with corporation with the local community colleges.

Health care is now team-based, as the college has embraced an interprofessional approach to education and research throughout its programs. Students learn from contact and consultation with students in other disciplines, thereby strengthening the importance of collaboration in the provision of medical and social services. Faculty members have profited as well, by their increased ability to make major research contributions addressing important national and international issues in cardiovascular health, diabetes and cancer treatment and control, and stress management.

These many advantages are a direct result of the outstanding teaching and research facilities offered in the building’s "smart" classrooms, advanced computer labs, well-equipped practice treatment centers, and expanded research and telemedicine capabilities.

We wish to thank our alumni and friends for the support you give to this college. Your gifts provide support for scholarships, student development and research. Please take time to visit us, either in person or while on our website. We look forward to hearing from you!
