The WTMB will be marching in the 2025 Tournament of Roses Parade! This is an exciting honor to represent the State of Wyoming and the University on an international stage. All members of the 2024-2025 marching band are expected to participate. If you have questions about your participation, please talk to Dr. Carver. The itinerary is still being discussed and will be sent to members of the band as soon as possible.
The travel dates are 12/28/24 - 1/2/25. The band will be performing in the annual Bandfest field show as well as the Parade on January 1st. Other excursions are being planned for the group while we are in California and they include: a tour of Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier/Beach, Hotel accommodations in the Long Beach area, and a trip to Disneyland.
Cost
Each member of the band will be required to submit a trip deposit of $300 by August 1st to secure their spot on the trip. It is very important that we have accurate numbers as we will need to submit the band's formation with accurate numbers in August. The deposit can be made online through our Box Office by following this link. It can also be paid in person during Box Office hours. That information can be found on the Box Office website.
Throughout the summer and fall, we will be fundraising to off-set the financial burden on the students. Updates regarding student payments will be given to the band members at the start of the fall 2024 marching season.
Family and Friend Travel Packages
The band is working with Grueninger Music Tours for all travel planning to and from Pasadena. We will be offering a comparable package to family and friends so that you can support the WTMB in person. There will be packages that include airfare and ground only packages to those wishing to make their own transportation plans. The Family and Friend Package will be available soon and will be advertised here on our website and on our social media pages.
TV Coverage
The Rose Parade will be broadcast live in the U.S. beginning at 8 a.m. PST, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Please check your local broadcast listings for more information. The National broadcasts include the following networks: ABC, Cowboy Channel, Cowgirl Channel, Great American Family, KTLA 5, NBC, RFDTV, Univision. The parade will also be streamed live. Please check the Tournament of Roses website for details about parade streaming.
