How to Apply

Step 1

Submit your resume including professional and educational experience to the MBA Program Office via the MBA email address, mba@uwyo.edu.

Step 2

Complete the University of Wyoming Graduate Admissions Application. You will be required to pay a $50 application fee.

Step 3

Transcripts from all previous college programs must be provided. Official transcripts should be sent directly from the schools you have attended to the MBA Program Office (Dept. 3275, 1000 E. University Ave., Laramie, WY 82071-2000).

Step 4

GMAT or GRE test scores from within the past five years must be provided for all on-campus MBA programs. Your test scores must be sent directly to the MBA Program Office by the sponsoring test provider. Our GMAT and GRE code is 4855.

Step 5

A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation must be provided. Applicants with work experience should provide two letters of recommendation from research active faculty members in their undergraduate institution and one letter of recommendation from an active business professional. Joint-degree and professional technical undergraduate applicants should provide three letters of recommendation from research active faculty members in their undergraduate institution.

Step 6

TOEFL test scores must be provided (for applicants from non-English speaking countries applying to a campus MBA program).  A minimum score of 250 on the computerized exam, or 100 on the Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT)  is required for full admission. TOEFL scores are valid for two years.

OR

Official IELTS scores sent to the University of Wyoming Admissions Office.  A minimum score of 7.0 is required for full admission. 

NOTE: If your TOEFL score does not reflect the minimum requirements, you have not taken the test, or you simply need supplemental English study before attending the University of Wyoming, you have the opportunity to attend the UW Intensive ESL Program to improve your English language skills.  Visit www.uwyo.edu/elc for details. 

Step 7

A campus visit and interview is not required, but strongly encouraged if travel is feasible. Visiting students will be given the opportunity to meet with the MBA Director, an MBA faculty member and current MBA students. Applicants can also sit in on an MBA course. Please contact the MBA office to set up a visit to campus.

Application Deadlines

Class sizes are limited and the admission process is highly competitive for prospective MBA candidates. The MBA Program admits students on a rolling basis with applications considered four times throughout the recruiting cycle. The first deadline is November 30th of the year prior to program start and the final deadline is June 30th the year of program start. All admission cycles are listed below: 

  • November 30th (early admission)

  • January 31st

  • April 30th

  • June 30th (FINAL DEADLINE)
