Percussion Ensemble

The University of Wyoming Percussion Ensemble is a 10+ member performing ensemble made up of mostly percussion majors but is open to all UWYO students upon successful audition. This ensemble performs rigorous and exciting music from percussions’ most standard repertoire as well as innovative new works for our field. This ensemble performs once every semester on UWYO’s campus in addition to regular regional performances.  The University of Wyoming Pan Band and Afro-Cuban drumming ensemble come from within the percussion ensemble and give interested students the opportunity to focus on Caribbean and Afro-Cuban drumming traditions. For more information about joining this ensemble, please contact director Andrew Wheelock at awheeloc@uwyo.edu.

The percussion ensemble, pan band, and Afo-Cuban drumming ensembles are available for hire and interested persons can contact Andrew Wheelock at awheeloc@uwyo.edu.

The UW Percussion Ensemble performs Joshua Redman's composition "Jazz Crimes." Arranged by UW percussion instructor Ed Breazeale for steel pans, keyboard percussion and drum set/auxiliary percussion.
