About the Club

The UW Shotgun Club is a co-ed, student led organization whose mission is to provide current or aspiring shotgun athletes the opportunity to continue or begin their shotgun career. We welcome all, from beginner to advanced shooters. We strive to develop lasting marksmanship skills, firearm’s knowledge, friendships, and memories. We practice twice a week at the Laramie Trap Club. Our club participates in International Trap and Skeet, American Trap and Skeet, Doubles Trap and Skeet, Sporting Clays, Super Sporting Clays, and Five Stand.

Typical Competition Season

A typical season begins during the fall semester. We travel to competitions around the Midwest, mainly attending shoots in Nebraska. We travel on Fridays, shoot Saturday and Sunday then return to Laramie after competing. Events shot at these shoots vary, depending on the amenities of the hosting ranges.

In the spring semester we compete at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championship in San Antonio, Texas.

National Governing Body

Our club is a member of the ACUI Clay Target Program.
